Convert for Windows 3.00 Notes
The following notes include a variety of miscellaneous information concerning Convert for Windows 3.00. These include hints, known "features", planned enhancements, and other miscellanea.
- Convert runs without problem in Windows 95 although it has not been updated for Windows 95-specific features such as long filenames.
- InfoWindow data does not yet cover all units and is also not as complete in some areas as I would like. This data will be enhanced as time goes on and as time permits.
- Current font settings are not initialized in the font selection box (for the InfoWindow).
- If an older version of BWCC.DLL is loaded by another Windows program prior to loading Convert, Convert will fail with a "Failed to create window" error. The BWCC.DLL (Borland Custom Controls) file required by Convert is dated 11/17/94 and is the version shipped with Borland C++ for Windows 4.50. Convert puts its copy of BWCC.DLL in the Windows\System directory and gives you the option of overwriting an older version (if there is one) in that directory. Failing to do so (or having another program load an older version from a different directory prior to loading Convert) will cause the previously described failure.
